Art Show

The Delicato Family Vineyards 31st annual art show is going on now through Saturday, Feb. 17. The public is invited to come and enjoy the show, sip the latest wine releases and vote for favorites. Delicato Vineyards is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is on Highway 99, four miles north of Manteca.

 

Crab Feed

Oakdale Swim Team will host its annual Crab Feed on Saturday, Feb. 3. A no host bar begins at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The event will be hosted at Gene Bianchi Community Center, Oakdale. Music, a silent auction, as well as a raffle will be offered during the evening’s festivities. Proceeds from the event benefit all levels of swimmers participating with the Oakdale Swim Team. Boots, Bows Dance

On Friday, Feb. 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Oakdale Sunrise Rotary plans to live it up at the Gene Bianchi Community Center for Boots and Bows, a community wide Father/Daughter Dance. This first time event is $25 per couple with each additional child being $10. Tickets may be purchased at Steves Chevrolet, Oakdale City Offices or Sara’s Dry Cleaners. Fathers, grandfathers, uncles … all are encouraged to attend and bring their special girl with them.

 

Super Bowl Breakfast

Escalon Sunrise Rotary Club is gearing up for its annual Super Bowl Breakfast, served at the Escalon High School cafeteria on Super Bowl Sunday. This year, the breakfast will be Feb. 4, 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the meal features a made-to-order omelet, biscuits, fruit, pastries, beverages and more, with the omelets cooked up while you wait. Tickets, $8.50 per person, are available from Rotary Club members and can also be purchased at the door. There will also be raffle items, with tickets available for purchase at the event.

 

Mansion Marriages

Marriage ceremonies will be offered on Valentine’s Day at the historic McHenry Mansion at 906 15th St., Modesto. “Marriage at the Mansion” offers each couple a romantic experience that will take them back in time. All ceremonies are individualized. Couples must sign up in advance. Ceremonies will start at 9 a.m. and run through 4 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 14. Marriage licenses must be purchased and appointments made in advance at the Stanislaus County Clerk Recorder’s Office at 1021 I St., downtown Modesto. Weight Loss Group

TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly, meets every week on Mondays at 9 a.m. at Community United Methodist Church in Oakdale, 1480 Poplar. Visitors are always welcome and the first meeting is free. TOPS is an affordable, nonprofit, weight-loss support and wellness education organization where members learn about nutrition, portion control, food planning, exercise, motivation and more.

 

Toastmasters Meet

The local REO Speechtrain Toastmasters Club gathers for regular meetings every Wednesday morning, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Patterson and Oakdale roads, Riverbank. This is a fun way to learn the self-confidence and skills needed for public speaking. All are invited to come and check out the group. The next meeting will be Wednesday, Feb. 7. Weekly Dance

Golden Agers weekly dances are open to those 50 and older from throughout the Central Valley at the Riverbank Community Center. Doors open Wednesdays at 9 a.m.; the center is at 3600 Santa Fe St., and first time guests are admitted free. The annual membership fee is $12 and each Wednesday members pay $5 and non-members can enjoy a few hours of music and dancing for $6.

 

Bike, Car Show

 

Registration is now open for the Welcome Home Veterans Bike and Car Show, scheduled for April 14. All makes, models and years are welcome. The show will be held at the Tuolumne County Sheriff Posse Grounds, Rawhide Road, Jamestown. Entry is $30 in advance, $35 after April 6, includes commemorative pin (first 300) and People’s Choice judging. Custom trophies will be awarded for Best of Show Bike and Car. Open to the public, $5 parking. There will be food, music and prize drawings as part of the event.
