City Requests Relocation Of OID Line

The City of Oakdale asked that the Oakdale Irrigation District relocate its West Pump Pipeline No. 2 before the start of the 2012 irrigation season. The pipeline currently runs on Stearns Road, north of Highway 108/120 and then heads west toward the rodeo grounds, the pipeline also runs through the limits of the Trieste Subdivision project and results in conflicts with the road alignment that is part of the city’s plan to develop the area. The housing development is an age-restricted community of 100 homes located across from the Oakdale Golf and Country Club.

The OID Board of Directors passed a motion to relocate the pipeline and authorize OID General Manager Steve Knell to execute any and all agreements necessary for the project in an action at the Feb. 8 regular meeting. Knell said that there will be no cost to the district and that the project developer will pay all the fees.
