Yes, it is almost Halloween; the Hitch’s witch has again flown into the telephone pole on Orange Blossom Road. After all these years you would think the witch would avoid the pole.

The Oakdale Rural Fire Board will hold their next meeting in the Ferry on October 28th at 10 a.m. at the clubhouse. Please attend and show your support for our fire district.

John Witzke killed a rattlesnake with 7 rattles. Makena and Aubrey wanted a closer look at the snake but were told “NO”.

Linda Cassinetto was visited by her daughters Monica and Beth. Ben and Linda celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary October 7th, Linda attended the Community Club meeting and Ben attended the Water Board meeting! They did have dinner together.

The Eighth Grade class at Knights Ferry School was signing the graduate’s wall last Friday.

There was a good dinner at the Community Club meeting but a small turnout. The speaker for the November meeting will be Duane Johnson, Park Manager.

On October 30th Elvis will be coming to the 50’s Roadhouse and there will bee Karaoke at the River’s Edge.

Sasha Sinkevich made the Wake Boarding team at Chico State. Way to go Sasha! She also participated in the Tahoe Run (10 K) and made it in the top 25.

The Sixth Grade has returned from Outdoor Education Camp at Foothill Horizons. They had a lot of fun.

Last Wednesday night it was October Fest at the River’s Edge. Tonight the Randy Mandy Band will play for your listening pleasure.

The garden of the Shearer’s ranch was the setting for granddaughter Joselyn Carr’s wedding to Tony Serrano last Sunday, 10-10-10. The ceremony was held under the 300-year-old oak tree with Marci D’Arpino officiating. Corrina Cain was the Matron of Honor and Syd Halterman was his brother’s best man. Lee drove Joselyn to the tree in “Gertie” (the model A) and Tony’s daughter Sophia escorted Joselyn to Tony. After the ceremony everyone adjourned to the Knights Ferry Community Clubhouse for dinner and entertainment by the “Good Luck Thrift Store Band ” and belly dancers.
