Bill Wearin was the recipient of the “Birthday song” at the 50’s Roadhouse last Wednesday.

They are putting in streetlights at Orange Blossom and the highway.

Jim and Diane Boyer have returned from Polson, Montana where they visited with son Stuart, daughter-in-law Rosalie and granddaughter Adaya. Their son Scott and family also went for the visit. While there they went to Glacier National Park. Diane said most of the time they just played with the baby!

Congratulations go out to Hanna Holland on verbally accepting a partial scholarship to Humboldt State. She wants to major in Speech Pathology.

The pancake breakfast put on by the Knight Ferry Junior High students was very yummy. It was to raise funds for their trip to Washington D.C.

Sunday, October 6th there will be a flu clinic in the Ferry provided by Rite Aid. It will be in Miller’s Hall from 8:30 to 11:30. It is free with Medicare part B and D card. Also they are offering the pneumonia shot. Without insurance it costs $29. This is also Breakfast Sunday at the I.O.O.F. Hall so eat and get your flu shot.

Movie night will be September 28th at 7:00p.m. on the tennis court. The movie is “Racing Stripes”. If it rains it will be canceled. Future movie nights will be in the community clubhouse.

October 3rd is the Community Club dinner meeting (note change) at 6:30 at the clubhouse. Pat Paul, mayor of Oakdale will be the speaker and the candidates for the Knights Ferry School board will be there for a meet and greet. Please bring a dish to share and get to know the candidates.

Laura and Eric Ray’s yard on Orange Blossom was the setting for the marriage of Matthew Thomas and Silomena Rebelo on Saturday. The rain stopped and the sun came out and the wedding went on. “Rain or shine, You’ll be mine” ruled the evening.
