Condolences go out to Fred Dolling and his family on the death of his mother, Della Dolling. Della was a Knights Ferry resident for over 60 years.

Orange Blossom 4-H reporter Emma Morales would like to thank, on the behalf of the Orange Blossom Club, all the families and businesses that contributed their time and money to make the Oakdale Rodeo food booth a success. A big hit this year, besides the normal rodeo nacho, was the new rodeo baked potato that was generously donated by the Cassinetto family at the River’s Edge Restaurant in Knights Ferry. The club has owned the food booth since the early 1970’s. Although it has been a struggle to keep 4-H families involved in participating over the last few years due to how much work is involved, it has remained a favorite of the youth who sign up to work shifts. The booth helps teach the 4-Hers how a business is run besides earning money for the club.

The annual Peddler’s Faire will be Sunday, April 28th around the covered bridge. There will be a breakfast at the I.O.O.F. Hall and a shuttle to take you to the park. The vendors will have antiques and hand made crafts for your shopping pleasure.

At Public School’s night at Knights Ferry School, the Masons judge the essays and give prizes. First place winners get $50.00 and second and third receive $25.00. Sixth grade first place winner was Alyssa Sisco, second place was Brooks Bonde and third place was Kaeli Sweet. Seventh grade first place was Alondra Machado, second was Julia Nilsson and third place was Aleesha Harden. Eighth grade first place was Salvador Limon, second place was Madison Willis and third place was Elise Seeds. Congratulations all!

There was another town in Buena Vista on Saturday - the Clampers held a meeting and there was a lot of red and black in Hunter’s field. Tents, porta potties, beer trucks, vendors and the food booth took over the pasture.
