Peddler’s Faire people were sweating the weather after the downpour but the day was lovely. Just some fluffy clouds and a breeze, mostly sun, greeted the many Faire goers Sunday. There were all kinds of items for sale, something for everyone!

Dolly Haskell had her longtime friend, Gayle Martin from Concord, visiting and taking in the Faire. Dolly and Gayle went to elementary through high school together.

Congratulations Kaitlin Van Ryn on getting accepted to all the colleges she applied to. She decided on the Dominican University of California because of its excellent nursing program. It is located in the Bay Area and Kaitlin will play volleyball for the Dominican Penguins.

On the latest fishing trip that Gordon and Michel Griesner took Michel caught a stripper that was 12 and ½ inches long. Way to go!

Monagram Pictures was in the Ferry shooting a made for television movie “Eyewitness”. It will be for the Hallmark or Lifetime or Sci-Fi channel. David Voortman of River Journey was in charge of the rafting part of the movie. Cody Simons, Michelle Sturtevant and Kaeli Sturtevant were stunt stand-ins. They filmed at the General Store, Russian Rapids and Horseshoe Bar. The town got a lot of business from the crew.

There are four new goslings at the Dolling’s pond and three new baby goats at Nancy Heaven’s. It is Spring!

At the last MAC meeting California Highway patrolman Anthony Palazuelos told of the crackdown on out of state license plates. You need to have California plates if you live or work here. Randy Avant from Stanislaus County Public Works told of the crack-sealing going on in town prior to slurry sealing all the town streets this summer. They will also be trimming all the shrubs along the roads so they can seal up to the edge. Oakdale Rural fireman Steve Ingram spoke on having a truck stationed here on Peddler’s Faire. He told of the new chief for Stanislaus Consolidated and he is also the temp chief for Oakdale Rural. Merger plans are ongoing. David Voortman told of the upcoming drop in the water in the river to 1700 ft. in May then down further for the summer. MAC member Cliff Howse is moving to Lander, Wyoming to help care for his brother so another member will be appointed.
