When your reporter started writing the Knights Ferry News in August of 1999, it had to be typed (on a typewriter) on 8 by 6 inch newsprint supplied by the Leader and put through the mail slot on Sunday evenings. Now it is all computerized and so much easier!

The lines have been painted on the newly slurried streets in the Ferry and look so nice and clean.

Lee Shearer went into the hospital for an angiogram because he was having trouble breathing and had no energy so decided to get his heart checked. His heart was fine, his bypasses looked good BUT he had a hemorrhagic stroke (brain bleed) because of the angiogram. It affected his vision and he cannot read. Plus he was very anemic, that was the cause of his symptoms. Now they will be looking for internal bleeding in two weeks. He is home and trying to find something to do, as he loved to read. Thanks to all who were concerned, especially Leslie who smuggled bacon to Lee. Hopefully the bleed will be absorbed and his eyesight will get better. Granddaughter Claire Krippner was visiting as her parents were on vacation and had to spend her time in the hospital. We had lots of activities to keep her occupied and she did not complain.
