The Salmon Festival at the Knights Ferry Recreation Area is November 5th. A wrong date was published last week. November 6th is the 48th Annual Pumpkin Roll.

The Ice Cream Parlor is starting their winter hours. They will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m.

Knights Ferry Garden Club met in the garden of Bev Hay last Wednesday. New members attending were Rossean Hunter and Ellen Wearin. Plans were finalized for baking pumpkin rolls for the Pumpkin Roll. The October meeting will be a week later at the clubhouse. At the November meeting the club will make Christmas tray favors for the local rest homes. All enjoyed the wonderful lunch provided by Bev.

Kelly Burgoin, daughter of Gary and Deirdre, married Casey White in a small formal wedding at the Knights Ferry Community Church and they held the reception at the Burgoin’s back yard on Frymire Road. Kelly chose black and white for her colors. The young couple will live in Oakdale.

The 50’s Roadhouse will be under new owners soon; Chris sold to Manuel Arias and his family.

At the meeting of the History and Museum Associates, Duane Johnson, manager of the Knights Ferry Army Corp Park explained about the Covered Bridge needing to be tuned and they are waiting on the engineers report on restoration.
The local Firehouse was given the go ahead to install dual pane windows and paint the building the same as it is now. Millers Hall Museum will have a booth at the town yard sale October 2nd. Donations are being accepted for the sale. Bob Muller Construction is working the last side of the building.

The fundraiser for the Pet Alliance last Saturday was well attended. There was lots of good food, music and prizes.

Cindy and Neil Davis celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday at the clubhouse. Twenty-five years ago they were married at the cross on Frymire Hill.
Family and friends enjoyed the gathering and the meat cooked by Scott Krippner and Andy Sandoval, brothers-in-law. Daughter Gwyn had sewn quilt squares for all to sign and then she and grandma (your reporter) will make a quilt.

Don’t forget the “Zero” party Saturday, September 24th at the clubhouse. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a potluck dinner at 6:15. As always the entertainment should be hysterical.
