The mountain lions must be gone as the deer are back. There have been six in Jim Rotelli’s pasture and a family of three has been seen on Cemetery Road. Your reporter’s roses have bloomed well while the deer have been gone.

The Ice Cream shop will open January 20th after a break for a vacation and shop cleaning.

At the Knights Ferry School Board meeting Bob Brunker Jr. took the Oath of Office and his seat on the Board. Superintendent Cheryl Griffiths reported the Loss Prevention Survey done by CRSIG in now in 100 percent compliance. The school calendar for next year was discussed, with Oakdale Unified School District’s calendar option shown and compared with Knights Ferry proposed calendar. The Audit report and the School Accountability Report Card were both approved.

At the 50’s Roadhouse Wednesday night, Rhiannon Hawthorn, granddaughter of Linda and Ken Morris, was surprised by the Arias family with a birthday cake and the “Birthday Song.” On Saturday Linda gave Rhiannon a bowling party for her friends.

The meeting of the Municipal Advisory Council will be January 26th at the clubhouse at 7 p.m. after a two month holiday break.
