Knights Ferry was out of power for about 12 hours over the weekend! It was out from about 10pm Saturday night to about 10:15am Sunday morning. One of the quirks of living in Knights Ferry is our water treatment plant is on the same power grid. It can be very challenging to be without electricity and water for 12 hours but I always keep extra water jugs just in case the power goes out!
The Odd Fellows announced they will hold their breakfast on September 10th due to the power outage.

We have quite a few monthly meetings this week! The Community Club meeting is a social/non-profit club and they will be discussing their upcoming Centennial Party and Pumpkin Roll. They meet at the Community Clubhouse; it is the white building with green trim on Main Street. The Miller’s Hall is the historical society group that meets in the Miller’s Hall building which is the same building as the Post Office and the Knights Ferry Creamery. They have a wealth of knowledge about the history of Knights Ferry! The Chess Club also meets in the Miller’s Hall; this is a great place to meet locals of all ages and play chess!

Do not forget to sign up for the Mysterious Halloween mosaic workshop at the Knights Ferry Art Studio! The two-day class will be September 16th from 9:30am-3:30pm and 17th from 9:30am-11am. The cost is $120 including the class and material fees. The class will feature a Day of the Dead inspired mosaic wall hanging using tile, glass, plates, and dishes. Knights Ferry School is gearing up to have their Color Run on October 13th. I have a feeling there will be kids knocking on our doors looking for sponsors very soon! The school farm has a newly installed solar door on the chicken coop, has the goats again, and a tidied up field for the animals. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Laura for all your hard work to maintain the school farm!
