Jim Boyer passed away on Thursday, September 21st, 2023. There will be a funeral service for Jim on Friday, September 29th at St. Matthias Anglican Church in Oakdale at 10am and his final resting place at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Knights Ferry. In lieu of flowers, the family would like remembrances made in Jim’s name to St. Matthias Anglican Church. Jim’s wife, Diane and Jim Boyer are long standing members of our community and I will miss catching up with Jim at our local events and activities at the Community Club.

Power outages seem to have become a part of our weekly routine in Knights Ferry! Last week we were without power AND we had an earthquake. The incidents were unrelated but it is a lot of activity for our little town. Additionally, there was another water pipe leak on Main Street. I saw Bob Muller taking a quick break from working on the Odd Fellows building to work on the water leak! Thank you, Bob and crew, for working to repair the water leak!

Saturday, September 30th from 3pm to 10pm is the Community Club’s Centennial Celebration! The party will be at the Clubhouse on Main Street and the Club has arranged for bands to perform. The Masonic Lodge and the Knights Ferry General Store will have food on site available for purchase. The celebration is open to all ages and free to attend so bring your lawn chairs, ice chests, and friends to a great local activity!
