Put November 6th on your calendar for the 48th annual Pumpkin Roll in the Ferry. Breakfast at the IOOF Hall, craft booths in the clubhouse, food and the roll-for genuine simulated gold trophies!

The first grade class at Knights Ferry School went to Hughson to the Resendiz Pumpkin Farm. They learned about the water cycle and made bracelets about it. They got to plant broccoli and go through a hay tunnel and of course, picked the very best pumpkin to take home. All had a good time.

The last side of Miller’s Hall has been resided and painted, it has taken some time but is now finished.

Bill and Evelyn Frias’ granddaughter Shaina Frias married Jonny Hetner in a lovely riverside wedding at the River’s Edge. They will make their home in Idaho.

The Nor Cal Retriever Club held field dog trials last weekend on the Boatright property on Orange Blossom Road.

At the Knights Ferry Community Club meeting last Thursday, all enjoyed a very good dinner. The speaker was Richard Edgecomb, a 42 -year veteran in the Army National Guard. He spoke of the signature gathering going on by volunteers to get on the ballot a Veterans Memorial District for Stanislaus County. This district would enable the Veterans to collect a mil tax and support a hall where Veterans could eat, shower, relax, etc. Also on the agenda for the club was the 48th annual Pumpkin Roll on November 6th. Lee Shearer reported plans are coming along on schedule.

The winter-like weather last week brought two inches of rain and a tree limb down at the Frias home, a tree down on Sonora Road.

Knights Ferry played Shiloh in volleyball and football and all had a good time.
