Countys Deputy Officer Focusing On Prevention
Ruben Imperial

Ruben Imperial has been appointed to fill the position of Deputy Executive Officer with the Stanislaus County Chief Executive Office. His work will center on providing leadership and direction in the alignment of the County with Focus on Prevention, a regional initiative with the aim to improve the quality of life for all Stanislaus residents and families through coordinated prevention efforts working across multiple sectors.

Starting as a Clinical Services Technician in the Stanislaus Behavioral Center within the County’s Behavioral Health and Recovery Services in 2002, Imperial held various management roles in prevention services before coming to the CEO’s Office in 2015. He formerly served as Chief of the Adult System of Care. Since 2015, Imperial has worked in the County CEO’s Office as the Community Development and Empowerment Manager, serving as a management liaison with Municipal Advisory Councils and various other community partners as an important steward of the Focus on Prevention initiative which he launched under the leadership of former CEO, Stan Risen.

“We are so fortunate to have someone of Ruben’s caliber to fill this critical role working with our community partners through Focus on Prevention,” said Jody Hayes, Stanislaus County Chief Executive Officer. “Ruben’s contributions to this effort have been essential over these last two years as we have developed and shaped our foundation for community transformation. Ruben has demonstrated himself to be a leader who embodies the value system we aspire to grow throughout the community.”

Imperial serves on the Board of Directors for the City Ministry Network, an organization committed to strengthening faith-sector community development efforts in Modesto. More recently, he’s accepted a Board of Directors position with a new area non-profit start-up, Stanislaus SOUP, which serves as a micro-grant organization, celebrating and supporting creative community-based projects in Stanislaus County. He was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. He received his Masters of Business Administration along with his BA in Political Science from Stanislaus State. He lives in Turlock with his wife Carolina and daughter Isabella.
