Through his battle with cancer, 15-year-old Jett Trunnell touched many lives.
His passing on Nov. 2 from Osteosarcoma has been noted by many, as “Jett’s Journey” posts gained a significant social media following over the last several months.
Named an honorary firefighter with the Manteca Fire Department, that department is planning an escort as the teen returns home for one final time.
The fire department escort is scheduled to accompany Jett and his family along Yosemite Avenue into town and then to the Oakdale-Riverbank Memorial Chapel on West F Street in Oakdale on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
Family members and friends are asking residents to crowd the streets of Oakdale for the procession and fire department escort, expected to arrive in Oakdale between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Local fire and police departments are also expected to assist, as Jett had developed friendships with many of the local first responders during his lengthy battle with the disease.
Family members indicated that Jett passed away about 7:25 p.m. on Monday night, Nov. 2.
