Riverbank planning Veterans Day breakfast, parade, resource fair

As Veterans Day approaches, many ceremonies and special events will take place throughout the nation – and around Stanislaus County – to honor veterans for their service and this year Riverbank is one of the communities that will be taking part. Plans are in place for Wednesday, Nov. 11, featuring a Veterans Day Parade and Veterans Appreciation Breakfast. The breakfast at the Community Center is free for veterans and is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., while a Veterans Resource Fair will be set up from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., with the Parade Check-In then taking place at the Community Center at 10 a.m.

All parade entries are to be lined up at 10:45 a.m., with a Veterans Day Opening Ceremony scheduled for 11 a.m., followed immediately by the parade.

Inspired by her stepfather, William Michael Riley, who served in the military for more than 20 years, Olivia Arambula, owner of Timeless Real Estate in Riverbank, wanted to honor the many veterans that live in Riverbank and the surrounding areas and started working on this project more than a year ago.

“My stepfather was my person, the person I talked to about everything and he served in the military for many years and he continued to serve others once he left the military through his work as a nurse at Eden Medical Center. He was an inspiration and I wanted to honor him as well as the many other veterans who gave so much to this country,” said Arambula.

She has worked to bring this event to Riverbank, partnering with other organizations including American Veterans First and the City of Riverbank’s Parks and Recreation Department to finalize the details and logistics. Timeless Real Estate, the business that she and her husband Jason Arambula own, is one of the many sponsors for the event. Arambula also started a non-profit organization called The Timeless Foundation, which will continue to create and support events like this in the future.
