The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Nov. 3 through Monday, Nov. 9. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, NOV. 9

No times listed:

Companies completed weekly apparatus/equipment maintenance.

BC1 and BC5 attended the weekly command staff meeting.

12:21 p.m. – Engine 27 responded to a motor vehicle accident (non-injury); no address listed. Oakdale Police Department investigating

 

SATURDAY, NOV. 7

7:36 p.m. – Brush 28, Engine 27, Battalion 5 responded to a vegetation fire in the 11000 block of Pioneer Avenue near Valley Home. Crews arrived to find a field of berry bushes on fire, surrounded by orchards. Crews contained the fire to five acres; no structures were threatened.

11:42 p.m. – Engines 7, 26, Truck 5, and Battalion 5 responded to a vehicle accident involving two trapped occupants on Oakdale Road between Clarantina Avenue and Claribel Road. Crews arrived to find a solo vehicle on its roof with two occupants trapped. Crews provided extrication and patient care; both patients were transported to area hospitals in critical condition.

 

FRIDAY, NOV. 6

7:41 a.m. – Modesto Engines 27, 9, 7, Brush 28, Water Tender 27, Battalion 5, Stanislaus Engine 26, Quint 22, Battalion 2, Escalon Water Tender 1-2 and FIU responded to reports of a working structure fire on River Road at Cleveland. Crews arrived on scene and found a detached garage well involved at a vacant residence. The fire was quickly knocked down with no extension. FIU at the scene investigating. Crews were assisted by Stanislaus Sheriff and CHP.

11:32 a.m. – Modesto Engine 28, 27, Battalion 5 and Oak Valley Ambulance responded to an injury accident involving an SUV and box truck on Lon Dale (Highway 120) at Sawyer Road. Two patients were transported with moderate injuries. CHP is investigating.

11:08 p.m. – Modesto Engine 28, 29, Battalion 5, Cal Fire, Cal Star 13 and Oak Valley Ambulance responded to reports of an injury accident with ejection on Highway 4 east of Milton Road. Crews arrived on scene and found a solo vehicle rollover with one person ejected. The patient was declared deceased at the scene. CHP is investigating.

 

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 4

BC1 and BC5 attended the monthly operations meeting.

 

TUESDAY, NOV. 3

Grass/WT 27 assisted Cal Fire TCU with overhaul on a vegetation fire on Sonora Road. The fire was declared under control at 50 acres.

9:15 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 29, Cal Fire Engine 4462 and BC5 responded to a motor vehicle accident at Milton Road and Highway 4. Engine 28 found a single vehicle vs. pole (non-injury) with power lines down.
