Magnolia Elementary third graders took a ride out of town earlier this month as they made their way to Modesto for a quick field trip. The four third-grade classes were treated to tours of both the McHenry Mansion as well as the McHenry Museum.
While both locations offer tours free to the public, transportation via school busses were provided courtesy of the Magnolia Parent Teacher Club. During their tours the students were informed of historical, as well as trivial information. From stories of Black Bart on his stage coach, to decorating styles at the McHenry mansion, the two tours engaged the youth in history and hands on learning.
