Oakdale High School’s Football Homecoming game is this Friday night, Oct. 19, with activities taking place at the high school all week leading up to the game that will pit the OHS Mustangs against the Weston Ranch Cougars.
The annual Homecoming Parade will start at 1:50 p.m. Friday at the high school and wind its way through downtown Oakdale with floats, queen and princess candidates, clubs, and the OHS marching band participating. The parade route will take the floats lined up behind OHS past the baseball fields and past the tennis courts on Gilbert Avenue. The route then winds through the traffic circle, and travels east on G Street. It then turns left (north) on First Avenue, toward F Street. It will turn right (east) on F street and then turn right (south) on Third Avenue. Then it turns on G street again travelling west, passing in front of the high school, and ending at the back of the school.
Students in the four classes at OHS each painted the windows of downtown businesses on Saturday, Oct. 13 to kick off Homecoming week. This year’s Homecoming theme is “A Day in the Past.”
Also this week, the Powder Puff game pitting the junior girls vs. the senior girls will be played at The Corral, coming up this evening, Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
Also at the Powder Puff game, the 2012 Homecoming King and Prince will be crowned.
