Graduation Times Set For Oakdale Schools

In the Oakdale Joint Unified School District, the Alternative Education graduations, which consists of East Stanislaus, Valley Oak and Oakdale Charter High School, will take place at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26 at the Oakdale High School gym. Doors open at 7p.m. Approximately 75 to 80 students will graduate.

Oakdale Junior High School’s graduation ceremony will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 27 at the Oakdale High School stadium. Gates open at 6 p.m. and tickets aren’t required. Approximately 350 students will graduate.

“There is plenty of room for everyone, especially with the new bleachers on the west side of the field,” said OJHS Principal John Simons. “We ask that people don’t bring balloons or horns to the graduation. We also ask that cell phones be turned down so they aren’t going off during presentations.”

Oakdale High School’s commencement ceremony will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 28, also at the OHS stadium. Gates open at 6 p.m. Approximately 330 students will graduate.

“Saving a seat or two would be acceptable but we are not allowing people to save an entire row,” said OHS Principal Mike Moore in regards to holding seats at the event.
