Calls regarding concerns with unemployment have been coming in to the office of local assemblyman Heath Flora, who in turn is offering some information.
The State’s Employment Development Department (EDD) is responsible for processing unemployment claims in California, and for the last three weeks the EDD has been unable to keep up with the caseload.
Recently, the Governor announced that the EDD is expanding its call center hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. This change will go into effect on Monday, April 20.
For other non-employment related COVID-19 issues or concerns, constituents in Flora’s 12th Assembly district are asked to utilize any of the state and local government resources listed here.
