Decision Reversed: No Move For Farmers Market
OFM

In a reversal of a recent decision, the weekly Oakdale Farmers Market will not be moving to a new location for the rest of this season.

Instead, said officials, they will remain set up along East E Street, between North First and North Third avenues, on Wednesday evenings through the end of September.

The market was moved on to East E this year because of ongoing construction work along North Third Avenue. Plans were to relocate to a parking lot along South Yosemite adjacent to the skate park but market organizers said there was some push back about moving the market a second time in a season so they have made the decision to stay where they are.

“I’m happy about it,” said spokesman Glenn Cooper, who said the decision to remain on East E was cemented this past weekend.

Flyers promoting the change to the South Yosemite area site were posted around the community last week but Cooper said he will put signs on that spot this week to inform people that the market has, indeed, stayed on East E Street instead.

Market hours are 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., each Wednesday, with the next market on July 13.
