Police Arrest Two In Marijuana Bust

Oakdale police arrested two men Friday, May 10 in connection with a large illegal marijuana grow in the 1800 block of East F Street.

Police and Code Enforcement officers responded to the residence to serve a nuisance abatement notice.

While serving the notice, a large marijuana grow was located in the backyard of the residence. As officers approached, one man ran from the area but was located and arrested a short time later. A second man was taken into custody at the scene.

Approximately 1,600 marijuana plants were located in a makeshift greenhouse with equipment to cultivate marijuana. Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency task force members and City of Oakdale Public Works crews responded to assist with the incident and investigation.

Cristiano Ibanez, 44, was arrested for illegal cultivation of marijuana. Rosales Gomez, 27, was arrested for illegal cultivation of marijuana and resisting arrest.
