Carlin, Nevada Police officials reported a pound of methamphetamine was recovered from a California couple travelling through that city, near Elko, on Interstate 80 on Saturday night, April 26.
Martin Rubio, 44, of Oakdale was driving a car with expired license plates and was stopped by Carlin Police as it left a Pilot Travel Center and got onto westbound Interstate 80. Also in the car was Cynthia G. Gilmore, 46, of Pendleton.
The officer learned Rubio had a revoked driver’s license, and when talking to Rubio, discovered drug paraphernalia on him. A subsequent search of the car led to the seizure of a small amount of marijuana and a pound of packaged methamphetamine.
Rubio was arrested for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking controlled substances, conspiracy to violate Uniform Controlled Substance Act and nonresident driving when privilege has been suspended, revoked or canceled. His bail was listed at $261,709.
