Oakdale Police responded to the Cottonwood Restaurant at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday night, Feb. 2 regarding a report that the owner of the business had been stabbed when confronting two subjects who had broken into the South Yosemite Avenue establishment.

Oakdale Police Lieutenant said the owner and her adult daughter were returning to the restaurant with groceries to restock the business. When they entered the back patio portion, off the parking area they encountered two subjects attempting to break into the business.

As the suspects attempted to flee the scene, one of the suspects, a Hispanic male in his early 20s, slashed the woman’s left forearm with a knife.

The other suspect was described as a black male wearing a hoodie. Investigators said the black male had “yellowish” eyes.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident to establish leads.
