A joint meeting of the Oakdale City Council and Oakdale Fire Protection District Board is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29 at 5 p.m. in the Oakdale City Council Chambers.

This special joint meeting has one major item on the agenda – discussion, review and possible approval of a new Fire Services Agreement between the City of Modesto, Oakdale Fire Protection District and the City of Oakdale. This would be in place of a prior agreement between the city and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District.

Scheduled to attend from the city are Mayor J.R. McCarty and Mayor Pro Tem Cherilyn Bairos in addition to council members Ericka Chiara, Richard Murdoch and Christopher Smith. Oakdale Fire Protection District Board members expected to attend are President Jane Lopes, Vice Chair Ryan Cope and directors Paul Rivera and Vincent Victorine.

The meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. and there will be a time for public comment for items of concern not on the agenda prior to the staff report on the new fire services agreement.

The council chambers are at 277 N. Second Ave., Oakdale.
