Local service organization Soroptimist International of Oakdale recently held a dedication ceremony at the Oakdale Library to honor the memory of their beloved deceased member Suzanne Oden. Suzanne was a member of the Oakdale Friends of the Library and also chaired the club’s Guardian House Committee organizing craft projects and outings for the children in their care. It is because of Suzanne’s love of children and the library that this project came about. Member Deborah Tussing arranged for the construction and dedication of the table which will be used by children visiting the library for many years to come.

Oakdale is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas, a cause-related philanthropic federation of clubs improving the lives of women and girls through social and economic empowerment.
