Car Seat Safety Station Slated Friday
Graphic OTS

A car seat check station will be set up at the Oakdale Bike Shop, 445 E. F St., Oakdale on Friday, Aug. 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Offered on a first come, first served basis, this event will feature nationally certified technicians who will inspect and help you properly install your child’s car seat. Safe Kids Stanislaus, led by Doctors Medical Center and the Stanislaus County Police Activities League (PAL), is hosting the free car seat check program.

Plan on spending approximately 45 minute per car seat; six months or more expectant mothers are welcome as well as parents with children currently in car seats.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring the car seat, the child who rides in the seat, and, if possible, the child seat instruction manual and the vehicle owner’s manual.

For more information, call or email Rena Bryant at 209-480-8786 or rena.bryant@tenethealth.com

Partial funding for the program was provided by a grant for the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The event will help you learn how to install your child’s car seat or booster seat and help determine if it’s time for a change in the seat being used.
