An industrial accident early Wednesday, June 14 resulted in the death of a Keyes man.

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Ismael Carrillo-Garcia, 27, of Keyes. Authorities said he was at a loading dock at the ConAgra Foods plant along South Yosemite Avenue in Oakdale shortly after 1 a.m. when he was run over by his big rig.

According to police, he was delivering pallets of empty cans at the time and was in the tailer of the rig moving the pallets when the truck started to roll forward. After being alerted to the movement of the truck, Carrillo-Garcia got out of the trailer and was attempting to get back in the cab of the big rig to stop it but tripped and was run over.

Oakdale Police and Modesto Fire were both on scene; Oakdale Police Chief Jerry Ramar indicated that CalOSHA was also notified since the incident occurred in the workplace.
