This week, Congressman Josh Harder (CA-10) announced he is inviting five additional Central Valley veterans to join his Congressional Veterans Advisory Committee. The committee advises the congressman on how best to serve Central Valley veterans and includes members from diverse backgrounds and representatives from Veteran Services Organizations.

“Serving our veterans starts with listening to their needs, and that’s exactly what this committee is about,” said Rep. Harder. “Last year we were able to secure new care and benefits for our service members through the work of this committee, and I look forward to all the work ahead.”

Interested candidates are encouraged to email Katie at Katie.Jaycox1@mail.house.gov with their name, address, phone number, and service branch plus a statement about themselves, their interests and their goals by March 1, 2021. Candidates are also encouraged to include one letter of recommendation.

Last year, Rep. Harder’s Fair Care for Vietnam Veterans Act was included in the NDAA and signed into law by President Trump, securing new benefits and care for those veterans who developed bladder cancer, Parkinsonism, or hypothyroidism as a result of exposure to Agent Orange during their service.
