Threshold — a band known for everything from rock & roll to R&B  — is playing the Main Stage of the 33rd annual Sunrise Kiwanis Pumpkin Fair taking place Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 7-8.

They are on the Main Stage that will be located at Wilson Park behind the Post Office in downtown Manteca from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Other Sunday, Oct. 8, bands are Johnny & Dakota from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; One Mile from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Agent from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

The bands on tap for Saturday, Oct. 7, are Johnny & Dakota from 11 a.m. to noon; Sky Kings from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.; Random Strangers from 2 to 3:30 p.m.; and Jim Anderson and the Rebels from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The Sunrise Kiwanis event typically draws more than 30,000 people downtown and has more than 150 vendors to line the streets in the downtown Manteca triangle. Vendor fees are $450 for a food booth, $320 for a commercial or information booth, $250 for an arts & crafts booth, and $200 for a non-profit booth now that the early bird deadline has passed. The forms are available at mantecapumpkinfair.org.

The free event is both days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The heart of the Pumpkin Fair is Library Park where Pumpkin Zone activities for kids take place. Included are everything from pumpkin rolling and pumpkin seed spitting contests to pumpkin pie eating competition. You can also pick out and buy pumpkins to take home. There is also free entertainment on the Main Stage and the Community Stage.

There’s a car show Sunday and haunted house both days.

Back this year is “Pumpkin Fair after Dark.”

It features the presentation of the movie “Night of the Living Dead.” The 1968 movie classic will be shown at the Pumpkin Fair Beer Garden from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7.

Admission is free. Beer, water, soda, and popcorn will be available for purchase. Beer sales will end at 8 p.m.

The event actually starts on Thursday, Oct. 5, with a carnival at The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley at the 120 Bypass and Union Road.
