Spoofs, Musical Tribute Bands On West Side Theatre Schedule

The West Side Theatre in Newman has a variety of shows upcoming in September and October. The venue is a beautifully restored 1940’s movie house, now a non-profit arts center, at 1331 Main St., Newman.

First up, enjoy the antics of Monty Python’s Spamalot, with shows on Fridays, Sept. 22 and 29; Saturdays, Sept. 23 and 30, all at 7 p.m.; Sundays, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1 at 3 p.m.

Join the West Side Players as they bring to the stage this zany Monty Python musical spoofing Camelot. The show features a cast of characters that will keep you entertained from start to finish.

Musical tributes take center stage during the month of October.

On Friday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m., it’s James Garner’s Tribute to Johnny Cash with tickets available at

For the past 15 years, Garner and his band have faithfully recreated Cash’s biggest hits with stunning accuracy in musical event. From special concert airings on PBS stations to shows at Folsom and San Quentin prisons, it’s easy to see why this is the premier tribute to the “Man in Black.” The show is a fun, toe-tapping trip down memory lane honoring Johnny Cash’s life and music, and the boom-chicka-boom sound of his longtime backing band, the Tennessee Three.

Playing an endless and ever-growing barrage of chart-topping Maroon 5 hits, Maroon Vibes delivers an energetic and engaging Maroon 5 and Adam Levine experience that appeals to the masses. Featuring many of the same elements of a live Maroon 5 show, this tribute act weaves together bits of rock, pop, dance, funk, reggae, and hip-hop to keep you singing and dancing.
