The McHenry Mansion at 906 15th St., in downtown Modesto, has reopened for docent led public tours, with the reopening celebrated on Friday, Sept. 17. The 30- to 45-minute tours operate each week on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., with the last tour starting at 3:30 p.m.

Tours are free and reservations are not required. Tours begin at the McHenry Mansion Visitor Center and Gift Store at 924 15th St., in Modesto. Due to COVID-19 limitations, 15 people are allowed inside the store at any one time. For questions and additional information, call 209-549-0428 during the dates the McHenry Mansion is open.

Tour capacity is limited to one to six people per tour who must be from the same household or family members or friends that came together as a group. This includes children. Groups will not be mixed. Groups will be split if there are more than six in a group.

Before each tour, visitors are asked to provide their name, email, telephone number and city of residence. Each visitor will have their temperature checked and be required to fill out a COVID-19 self-check questionnaire. Everyone is required to wear masks and abide by social distancing and hand sanitizing requirements as per Stanislaus County Health Services Agency and California Department of Public Health COVID-19 guidelines.

The McHenry Mansion Foundation is pleased to continue working with the public and sharing the community events scheduled at the McHenry Mansion. Shoppers are always welcome to browse the reopened gift store. Gift Store hours are the same as the McHenry Mansion hours. All store proceeds support the non-profit McHenry Mansion Foundation.
