Mime Presentation Offered At Delta College Theatre
Mime

Delta Drama students and guest artist Michael Gene Sullivan of the award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe will put on a free workshop presentation on Saturday, March 16 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the college’s Tillie Lewis Theatre. Delta College is at 5151 Pacific Ave., Stockton.

Thanks to a grant from the Stockton Arts Commission, Sullivan will be visiting Delta and working with intermediate acting students during regular class hours and for four additional hours on March 16.

That work will culminate in a public presentation from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. the same day at Tillie Lewis.

The San Francisco Mime Troupe does not perform mime in the sense most may know it. The troupe is known for creating an original musical comedy each year that combines aspects of Commedia dell’Arte, melodrama, and broad farce with topical political themes. The group was awarded the Regional Theatre Award at the 41st Tony Awards.

Seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early if you’d like to attend on March 16.

Delta Drama is committed to fostering the creativity and aspirations of its students, allowing them to hone their skills in a supportive and inclusive environment, while pursuing their academic and career goals.

Delta Drama is invested in public and educational outreach initiatives to create a forum that encourages the interaction between students, artists and audience while reflecting on the issues and interests of the community, both locally and globally.
