What is Christmas without wondrous music to lift your heart and pep up your spirit? For the first time ever, Annette Hutton is bringing her chorus to Oakdale to perform their Christmas concert.
On Sunday, Dec.20 in Oakdale at the Hutton’s Hamlet historic church – at 132 W. G St., corner of Church and G streets, in Oakdale at 3 p.m. – Hutton will deliver a panoply of delightful carols and soaring songs with her Gold Country Singers. Come be enthralled by a 16th century French chanson, a number of your old-time Christmas favorites, A Glory to God beauty. Then Kaspar, Melchior, and Balthazar drop by to sing with the shepherds who search for a meal to feed them. Hutton has chosen food songs as the theme for the concert. You might be surprised how many Christmas tunes glory in the joy of holiday dining/snacking/nibbling/imbibing/wassailing. Also Ellie Duste will delight you with her oboe accompaniment and Mike Kambeitz with his French horn. Come be entertained by the song choices of the soloists.
The Gold Country singers will also perform on Saturday, Dec. 19 at the Coulterville United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Potluck snacks provided immediately after the concerts. Both concerts are free.
Also scheduled, a special Christmas Sing-Along on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. at Hutton’s Hamlet. Sing your favorite carols and Christmas songs with Annette Hutton on the piano. Free admission, refreshments served. Call to RSVP, 209-848-1216.
