The Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund hosted its 27th Annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 19 at Del Rio, Oakdale and Turlock Golf and Country Clubs. MDR welcomed 281 golfers at this year’s tournament and nearly 60 volunteers. Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund was founded by the late Carl Boyett, CEO of Boyett Petroleum and his family. Carl’s son, Dale Boyett, President of Boyett Petroleum was eager to continue Carl’s beloved legacy and keep the tournament scheduled as planned prior to Carl’s unexpected passing last November.

“My dad left big shoes to fill. I am excited to continue building our Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund on my father’s behalf,” remarked Dale.

Among other generous donors, petroleum industry partners, Valero Energy Corporation and Williams Tank Lines (based in Stockton), sponsored the tournament for $25,000 each. Boyett Petroleum underwrites all costs associated with the tournament; all monies received through the tournament go directly into the endowment fund. No funds raised through the event are used to pay for costs. The annual golf tournament is the single fundraising event responsible for building the endowment fund. A portion of the fund is distributed annually to local children’s educational programs through a grant process overseen by an advisory board and the Stanislaus Community Foundation. Since the fund’s inception in 2009, over $550,000 has been awarded to local programs through grant funding.

The Make Dreams Real 28th Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Del Rio and Oakdale Golf Courses.
