The Oakdale Junior High School Rams put on a summer volleyball camp for incoming first through sixth graders. The three-day camp was scheduled from Monday, June 20 through Wednesday, June 22.

Brittany Salas, OJHS seventh grade coach and Lisa Lewis, OJHS eighth grade coach, combined their efforts to host the camp.

“Our past players are helping coach as well. Such a great way for our girls to be introduced to the sport, learn skills and have fun,” said Lewis. “Our past players are doing such a great job of encouraging the kids and being positive.”

The courts at the Oakdale Junior High gym were filled with the enthusiastic young players, learning new skills, focusing on teamwork, and getting some top notch instruction from coaches and players.

In addition to the volleyball camp, this summer features Slam ‘n Jam basketball, running on Mondays from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at OJHS. Remaining dates for the basketball, open to first through sixth graders, are June 27, July 11 and July 25.
