A few weeks removed from the high school wrestling season, four of Oakdale High School’s grapplers earned All-Sac-Joaquin Section Honors. Michael Torres, Brayden Abell, Ceasar Garza and Seth Borba all made the list.

Torres, a sophomore, competed at 106 pounds this season. He made the first team honors list, having won Masters and placing seventh overall at the State Meet competition. Abell, who wrestled at 113 pounds, also made first team honors. He is a junior and won Masters and placed sixth overall at state.

Garza wrestled at 145 pounds and is a sophomore, recognized with second team honors. Garza won Masters and placed seventh overall at state. Borba, a junior, received second team honors. He competes at 152 pounds and was a Masters runner-up and finished seventh in state.

“A great year for our team, a lot of hard work over the years has paid off for many of the wrestlers,” said Mustangs coach Steve Strange. “We are proud of their accomplishments and the effort they have shown. With a deep team including six returning state qualifiers, four medalists, they have set themselves up for an exciting 2021 season.”
