Successful Season Ends For Oakdale Swimmers
OHS Mustangs

After breaking several Oakdale High School varsity boys swim records a week ago, the boys 200 yard Medley Relay team advanced to the CIF State Meet. Nate Van Cleave, Rhett Harrison, Jackson Metcalfe and Caden Nord made their way to Clovis West High School in Fresno for the 2016 CIF State Meet for two days of swimming action.

The meet began on Friday, May 20 for the preliminaries and wrapped up on Saturday, May 21 where individuals and teams earned their state medals. Unfortunately for the Oakdale foursome, they came back empty handed. Coming off their record setting performance at the Section Meet, the boys did not place in the relay event at the state competition.

“The boys swam hard in a highly competitive and fast paced meet. It was a good experience for the boys and I am proud of them,” said Oakdale High School head swim Coach Russ Van Cleave. “They had a tremendous year and took some records in the process. They may not have had their fastest time today, but they gave it their best effort.”
