During the recent National Signing Day, several Oakdale High School student athletes made their most important decision to date: what school will they attend after graduation. Four student athletes made those choices and will continue their athletic as well as academic endeavors at the next level: Wyatt Hjelm, Nico Colunga, Ashley Arnett and Sydney Sudaria.

Hjelm, who is active in both football and wrestling, has signed with Sacramento State on a football scholarship. He is so far undecided on a major.

Colunga, a national champion on the wrestling mats, has decided to take his talents to North Dakota State. Although Colunga is uncertain what he will be majoring in, he said the criminal justice field is his current interest, as both his parents have been successful in that field.

Arnett will be attending University of the Pacific to play with their soccer program. She will also be majoring in their athletic training program. Arnett selected UOP based on location and to help further her education.

Sudaria has signed with Notre Dame De Namur and will be a part of their soccer program this fall. She will be majoring in kinesiology. Sudaria said she liked the fact that the coaches made her feel welcome right away and the classes were small to help with her education.
