James Lavernon Over, 73, of Riverbank passed away on Sept.3, 2014 from a long fight with cancer. Two of his children, Donovan and Audrina were by his side, as well as their mother Wendy.

He was born on Jan. 21, 1941 in Boise, Id. James attended Oakdale High School Class Of 1959 and served in the U.S. Army 1963 to 1965 in Germany. He was a long haul truck driver and worked in construction for many years.

He is survived by his three children, Donovan, Audrina and Joanna; and his sister, Louise (Biggs) Cruse of Chandler, Az.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ethel (Biggs) Over; four brothers, Luther Biggs, Lawrence Biggs, Raymond Biggs, Leonard Biggs; and three sisters, Lagretta (Biggs) Jones, Rose (Biggs) McCormack and Edith (Biggs) Lamica.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Oakdale Citizens Cemetery.
