The annual Community Closet free clothing distribution program hosted at the Gene Bianchi Community Center in Oakdale saw a huge crowd turn out on Saturday, Aug. 29. Hours for the event were 9 a.m. to noon and organizers said several hundred people came through the doors in the first hour alone. Put on through the Oakdale Enrichment Society, this year saw clothes for all ages and sizes, piled high on tables, with shoes and other accessories also available. It required a massive volunteer effort as well, sorting and stacking the clothes by gender and size.
