Wednesday, Sept. 27 will feature the final Farmer’s Market of the 2017 season in downtown Oakdale.

Taken over this year by new coordinator Glen Earl of Cap’n Coops kettle corn, the Wednesday night market has been hosted since May 10. A few Wednesdays saw the market canceled due to extreme heat as the region recorded multiple triple digit days this summer.

The final market is scheduled for this evening, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. along North Third Avenue, between E and F streets in Oakdale. It features farm fresh produce, hummus, kettle corn, food, handmade items, jewelry and more, sometimes with local businesses also hosting booths at the event.

Produce has changed during the season, with early summer crops now giving way to the autumn fare. Temperatures, however, will still feel more like summer for the market finale, with highs expected to reach into the low 90s on Wednesday.
