Veterans Appreciation Day ceremonies were held at the Veterans Monument in William A. Fish Veterans Park on Wednesday, Nov 11 by the local VFW Post 2922. The day of remembrance and appreciation of veterans included speakers, quilt presentations, an official Flag Retirement ceremony by the Boy Scouts and an ‘open mic’ session.

Coordinator Paul Lewis (retired Army) of the VFW Post 2922 told those in attendance, “It doesn’t matter what you did in the service … A veteran is a veteran in service to their country.”

More than 150 people turned out for the ceremony. Following are some photos from the special event.
