The community is encouraged to come and join in to remember, honor and celebrate veterans on Friday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Monument in William A. Fish Veterans Park.

The park in Oakdale is on Pontiac Street by Cliffwood Way.

Hosted by local veterans’ organizations, this will be a day of remembrance and appreciation of veterans to mark the official Veterans Day observance. The program includes music, a flag retirement by the Boy Scouts and an open mic session.

Seating is limited and those planning to attend are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the event.
