Toe-Tappin Summer Entertainment Slated
Chamber of Commerce

The ever-popular Concerts In The Park, hosted by the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce since 1991, is slated to kick off July 14 at Dorada Park 6:30 p.m.

This year two new bands are on the schedule, Valley Fire on July 28 and Fade To Blue on Aug. 4, both of which played at the recent Oakdale Chocolate Festival.

Nothing beats free entertainment on a hot summer day, which is why the Concerts In The Park series is a local favorite.

Every Friday night, Dorada Park becomes the place to be as soon as the bands start showing up. People bring their lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic fixings for the family-friendly event.

“The Chamber enjoys putting on the concert series because it brings our community together,” Mary Guardiola, Executive Director of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce said. “It also allows businesses that are Idol sponsors an opportunity to get their names and businesses in front of 200 to 500 Oakdale families.”

Families pack in their snacks and beverages, the only restriction being no glass bottles are allowed in the park.

The concerts are funded by sponsorships by businesses and community members, which goes to pay for the bands and advertising.

The Summer Concert series is one of many events the Chamber hosts for the benefit of the community.

The current entertainment line-up is as follows:

July 14, Never 2 Late

July 21, Oakdale Community Band

July 28, Valley Fire

Aug. 4, Fade To Blue

Aug. 11, Live Again

Aug. 18, Highway 99 Party Band

Aug. 25, Remedy
