Opening Day for the Oakdale Youth Soccer League is fast approaching.

Saturday, Aug. 20 will see a full day of fun at the T.L. Davis sports complex off Warnerville Road, with 620 youngsters signed up to participate in youth soccer in a variety of age divisions. This is the recreational program for Oakdale youths and organizers said they are looking forward to a successful year.

Festivities are slated to begin with a parade of teams at 9 a.m., with introduction of the teams and divisions. There will also be games played all day and the community is invited to come share the fun. Many local businesses and service organizations have helped sponsor the teams and provide uniforms.
