OJUSD Junior Scientists Bring Home The Bling

Oakdale Joint Unified School District was well represented on Saturday, April 21 at the 21st Annual Elementary Science Olympiad. Students from Cloverland, Fair Oaks, Magnolia and Sierra View Elementary Schools took part in the competition.

OJUSD as a whole took home a total of 22 medals, including a Third Place overall honor for Fair Oaks Elementary School.

The following is the list of winners by event and campus.

Cloverland:

Paddle Boat: First Place; Knock Knock Who’s There?: Second Place; Circuit Wizardry: Fourth Place; Bridge Building: Fifth Place; Water Rockets: Fifth Place.

Fair Oaks:

Picture This: First Place; Write It/Do It: Second Place; Water Rockets: Third Place; Knock Knock Who’s There? Third Place; Anatomy: Fourth Place; Paddle Boat: Fourth Place; Starry, Starry Night: Fourth Place.

Magnolia:

Circuit Wizardry: First Place; Propeller Propulsion: Third Place; Don’t Bug Me: Fourth Place; Orienteering: Fourth Place.

Sierra View:

Knock Knock Who’s There?: First Place; Orienteering: First Place; Bridge Building: Fourth Place; Rock Hound: Fifth Place; Straw Egg Drop: Fifth Place.

The annual event was sponsored by Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE), E. & J. Gallo Winery and the Education Foundation of Stanislaus County.
