The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department and Waterford Police Services are asking for assistance in identifying a vehicle that fled the scene of a hit and run fatality on Sunday, Dec. 29 in Waterford. The incident is being classified as a homicide.

Around 1:30 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a fight in the 500 block of E Street in Waterford, with reports of gunshots at the same location. When deputies arrived, according to the police report, they found multiple subjects running from the area. People remaining in the area guided deputies to a victim who was unresponsive and laying in the street. The victim was transported to Oak Valley Hospital and pronounced deceased.

While investigators are withholding details, various social media sites have identified the victim as Blake Barry of Oakdale, a 2011 graduate of Oakdale High School.

Sheriff’s representatives stated a second victim, an unknown female, was also located at the scene with non-life threatening injuries after being struck by the same vehicle. She was transported to Oak Valley Hospital to receive treatment.

Witnesses told deputies that a dark colored Nissan car was responsible for hitting the two victims and was seen fleeing the area.

Detectives are asking for assistance in locating the vehicle.
