Friday Night Benefit
soccerball1

Plan to attend a Friday night fundraiser, April 28 at Oakdale High School, featuring soccer games, silent auction, food, raffle drawings, entertainment and more.

The proceeds from the evening will benefit Hector Padilla, a local youth and high school soccer coach seriously injured in an auto accident. The money will help the family offset medical expenses for hospitalization and rehabilitation.

The Hector Padilla Inaugural Alumni All-Star Soccer Game will be played at the high school and feature a number of local players, many who played at the high school and several that had Padilla as a coach. Gates at the high school, 739 W. G St., will open at 5 p.m. and the first kick-off for games is set for 6 p.m.

Festivities are expected to continue until about 9 p.m.

There is no entrance fee to watch the competition but donations are being accepted for the cause.
