The Oakdale Chamber of Commerce is hosting a City of Oakdale candidate forum on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 6p.m. in the Oakdale City Council Chambers, 277 N. Second Ave.

Forums are a great format in which to engage the community around the upcoming election. To afford candidates for office the opportunity to stand up and deliver a very distinct message about what they bring to the table in the way of solutions, programs, and their own political positions.

The purpose of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce forum is to understand each candidate’s opinion on business and economic development issues that influence and impact the City of Oakdale.

Candidates will each have two minutes for opening statements, two minutes to answer the predetermined questions, and three minutes for closing statements.

The format will be council candidates for the four-year seat first, then the council candidate for the two-year seat.

The public is invited to attend; however, the Oakdale City Council Chambers has limited seating. Due to this, the event will be televised on Comcast Channel 7, and it may also be viewed from a computer or smart phone – contact the chamber for the link. For more information call (209) 847-2244.

More information about the chamber may also be seen on its website at www.oakdalechamber.com.
